Blue hour Seattle waterfront
Sometimes the skies clear, and you don't get the colorful sunset clouds you hoped for. But often, just after sunset - you can see the "Belt of Venus". A layer of pink sky opposite the setting sun, caused by the backscatter of red light rays. The dark blue layer beneath is actually the Earth's shadow.
